About me.

Man with a beard standing in a wooded area with sunlight filtering through trees.

My Name is Ben Stevenson and I offer in-depth personal therapy and professional supervision online.

I graduated in 2014 as an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist at London’s Institute of Arts Therapy & Education and since have received supervision qualifications as a part of my commitment to ongoing professional development.

Currently registered member of ANZACATA (The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association)

I offer a global online service providing support to individuals in different countries from my home in the Waikato region of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Through my years of work and training, I have first hand experience of therapy and supervision where the clinician seems to have a specific agenda or tool to use, making it feel like I'm just a nail being hit by a hammer.

At Liminal Path Therapy, together, we will create a comprehensive and enriching experience by utilising an array of innovative ideas and evidenced based methods, all while empowering you to explore and discover a lasting method of creating meaning and healing.

For myself the key to effective therapy and supervision starts with our relationship. It requires openness and clarity, and I will share my thoughts throughout the process.

I use an Integrative Arts Psychotherapy model, which means that if something feels off or isn’t quite working the way we hoped, we have the flexibility to change our approach based on diverse theoretic models to better meet your individual needs and preferences. This adaptability ensures that our therapeutic journey remains aligned with your unique experiences and goals.

I am passionate about sitting alongside and witnessing people from all walks of life, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, make meaning out of their experiences, especially in my more recent work in a palliative and bereavement care service.

I am keenly interested in relational dynamics, both internal and external, as well as within organisational contexts, because I believe each layer holds the potential to reveal new and valuable information. This unfolding of insights can significantly impact how we relate to ourselves and to one another in various settings. Understanding these interactions allows for deeper connections and fosters growth in personal and professional relationships.
